…FREISTON SHORE again, 28th aug.
Not many seabirds on a high tide seawatch, but a couple of gooduns. A black tern close inshore was followed by an arctic skua and then a small skua sp. that I’m confident was a long-tailed, juvenile.
3 thousand (est.) oystrcatchers on the lagoon was quite a sight and sound. About 200 turnstones were here, too. Lots of other waders around including whimbrel.
The pec sand was still on the reservoir, along with a little stint and a smart juvenile curlew sandpiper.
Other highlights included kingfisher and a couple of marsh harriers.
