As usual I spent a couple of days in Northumbria but a week or so earlier than usual. Areas visited were Stag Rocks at Bamburgh Bay (my favourite), Seahouses Harbour, North Sunderland Bay, Beadnell Bay, Low Newton bay and pools, Budle Bay, Fenham le Moor and Lindisfarne.
All the usual suspects were encountered plus a Woodcock I flushed in amongst the Stag rocks, presumably freshly arrived, and my first ever Long-tailed ducks.
Day one, arrival day, was decent weather but getting colder and as I arrived late in the day I didn’t get much birding in, day two was drab and overcast until later making birding and photography a challenge. Day three was the best day but the low sun at this time of the year again made photography challenging due the the very high light contrast. Later in the day a storm was seen approaching over the Farnes and with the low setting sun produced some stunning cloud patterns, this storm descended on my camper van at Belford late in the evening causing it to rock all night.
A few of the images taken on the trip, perhaps a little to many?
Hopefully if you click on the images the full size will be displayed, however this didn’t work last time!

Thanks for looking,
