Still fairly quiet when I arrived this morning but more birds on the scrape now with Shelduck, Shoveler, Gadwall, Wigeon, Tufted, Teal and a little grebe. 28 Curlew flying around as well as a good few Buzzards and Greylag. The Water Rail were fairly quiet but a bit of patience and stealth and at least 3 were venturing onto the channel edge. 2 Cetti’s calling regularly, a Little Egret flew past the Poplars, a good crowd of Redpolls and a number of Reed buntings were evident in the reed bed – spring is coming!
