DVD review. Rare and scarce birds 2013, by Roy Harvey.

P1010551This twin set, two and a half hour DVD is the twelfth production in the series and is excellently put together. Some great birds are featured from one of the best years for rarities ever. Whether you are a twitcher or just enjoy watching birds, there is plenty to enjoy, with a lot of local stuff. My personal fave is the bridled tern on the Farnes, rekindling memories of a great day last summer.

Roy’s eloquently spoken narrative is superb, his smooth as brandy voice being very listenable. It’s not over-done though, there are plenty of quiet moments when you can take in the natural sounds and enjoy seeing familiar reserves and beautiful places.

I can’t imagine the man hours that go into the making, but at £15.75 (inc. p and p), it’s a snip.
