Melodious warbler near Retford (Notts) 23/06/2013
At first thought to be an icterine warbler, this bird was re-identified as a melodious once the song had been analysed.Having seen it this morning I can easily understand the uncertainty, given the colour of it’s legs and the paleish wing panel which were more like icterine.Primary wing projection was short, more in keeping with the species and the song was certainly as it should be for melodious.Superb songster.A very popular bird.Good crowd of well behaved twitchers.Single track lane was jammed.
