Poor day comes good.

Gibralter pt. 11th april 2013.

Went in search of migrants but after a diabastrical mornings thrash the only migrants were winter ones.A couple of woococks flew up from the dunes, along with a fieldfare. That was about it all morning,it was pretty dead.

I went and scoffed all my sandwiches and flask of coffee. It was to be a day of two halves.Early afternoon a Red Kite showed well, inland from Tennysons hide.Next something told me to check the area around the visitor centre again.Earlier on I’d had a good look here but no joy.I couldn’t believe it when I saw three Black redstarts in the small walled garden-lovely jubbly. Some photos below. They were all similarly plumaged,I think perhaps first winter males.

There was a blue football in the garden and my best shot was of a bird perched on it,but I accidentally deleted it.Plonker !.
